Every once in a while someone in this hobby will have to dispose of an unwanted game cabinet. We advertised this one in question (and the other one visible in the pictures) for several months in the newsgroups and no one wanted the cabinet. So, this is how we destroyed it. Make sure you wear gloves before attempting this.
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITH GAMES CONTAINING ANY ELECTRONICS. ESPECIALLY A MONITOR!
| STEP 0: Line the game up on a high place. This cabinet was already stripped. |
| STEP 1: Move it to the very edge. |
| STEP 2: Give it a good shove. |
| STEP 3: A close-up of just the cabinet. A few taps with a sledge hammer made the control panel fall off. |
| STEP 4: A few more taps with a sledge and the pieces are coming off. Pieces should be removed once they are loose. |
| STEP 5: Take out one side with the sledge hammer.. |
| STEP 6: Flip it over and repeat. Keep
hitting it until all joints are broken. No part was more than 20 pounds once this was done. |
| STEP 7: Put all of the parts into the back of the truck and take them to the recycling place. It was considered construction debris, so we had to pay to get rid of it. |
