Work Done:

From the auction...

This auction was for a Midway Galaxian cocktail table arcade game. This is the game that inspired Galaga! This table is the rare version of the video game. Relatively few of this style were made in comparison to the upright. This would make a great gift for someone's office or game room. It is a nice piece of furniture. Unlike many of the games from this era, there are no holes drilled in this cabinet for a lock-bar. This game comes with a quarter-acceptor mechanism, a door lock, and keys.

This game has been modified to play 4 different variarions of Galaxian:

These 4 games are switchable by changing the positions of 2 switches that are mounted inside the coin door. Switching between the different versions of the game will keep the game fresh and playable for a long, long time. You can also increase the difficulty by changing the dip switches on the main PCB to give fewer ships, less frequent bonuses, etc..

Here are the instructions that appear on the under side of the top glass:

Here are some pictures of the control panels. Note that there are no tears or rips in the overlays. The buttons and controls all work great!

These were taken with a digital camera with the tinted monitor bezel and glass in place over the monitor. So, the pictures do not appear very bright in these photos. This game has a nice, bright 19 inch Electrohome GO7 monitor with minimal burn-in. The picture flips when playing from the second player side. The screenshots are from the actual game being auctioned. Here are some Screenshots of the various versions of the game:

This game's serial number is 1605.

At the request of the high bidder, we will add a free-play button to the game. That way it can be locked up and played for free. The game can also be set to free play mode via a  DIP switches on the main board, but we do not recommend it. The free play setting can cause accelerated screen burn-in. Of course, you can always use quarters! A quarter mechanism is provided.
