Ms. Pac-Man Restoration:![]()

This game was dead when we bought it. The first thing we did was remove this silly device from the game:

Somehow it seems to have been interrupting the functioning of the game (simulating a stuck coin switch perhaps). It was quickly removed from the game. After removing this, the game played.
We tested the game PCB in our other cabinet. The game plays fine.
Mike repaired the monitor and the game was fully functional.
The sides of the game were painted black. During handling, we realized that the black paint wasn't really adhered to the sides. So, we decided to remove it. These pictures show the work over several hours' time (note the garage windows in the background).

Based on the color of the underlying artwork, you can tell that the right and front sides of the game faced the sun most of it's life. Before being painted black, that is. The only reason we can guess this was painted black was to prevent it from being put into an arcade. The only other probable reason for the paint job was the worn paint on the right side.
The game has a nice control panel overlay and marquee. The front art, while faded is in good shape. The monitor glass is peeling slightly on the left side by the control panel. The monitor is nice but has some Ms Pac burn-in. This is a nice, clean game. It has been in a home for the last 5 years. The last 3 of which, it has been non-working. It is now fully working.

This picture is to show how faded the colors are. |

This is just the first coat of the pink. We color matched this with Glidden Passion Flower 30RR 26/335. Unfortunately Home Quarters does not carry Glidden paint so they were able to mix it using Dutch Boy Dirt Fighter/Interior/Latex/Satin Deep Tone Base C 576-05. |

This is a comparison picture of what the colors use to be and how
they are going to be. This is a very time consuming project. The New England
weather conditions have not been cooperating so that Dawn can finish painting. Dawn is
painting this with ceramic paint brushes each less than 1/4 inch wide.
NOTE: Please do not let Mike touch any paint brush smaller than
3", he just does not have the patience for it. |
Current Status:
To Be Done:
This project is no longer for sale, we have put too many hours into it to resotre it and have decided to keep it for our Pac collection.
