Baby Pac-Man

Not working when purchased. Repair steps:
|
Step 1: Fix the monitor & Video Circuit and
get the Vidiot PCB to pass the self test. This is the "communication mode" menu. Ordered some new TMS9928A chips from John's Jukes. Installed one on the Vidiot PCB. Also reflowed the solder on one of the EPROM sockets - there was a break between the socket and the PCB. Ended up jumpering this as it was still an intermittent connection. |
|
Step 2: The game is having problems. It will
accept coins, accept P1 start, and plays the Pac Man tune. It will not actually play the
maze. It just sits there flashing 1UP. The monitor is mounted upside down. This is how it arrived. An easy fix. |
|
Step 3: Mike got serious and fixed the pinball
and video game portions. The tilt switch is shorted - just disconnected for now. Then he
turned the monitor right side up! The colors still need some adjustment. |
|
Step 4: Mike fixed colors and the burnt out
lights on the playfield. There are some shorted diodes that are causing some of the lights
not to illuminate. . |
